COMPLAINT DESK.

At first glance, the local government and a local NGO’s effort to implement the Comprehensive Agreement for the Respect of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL) is a good sign towards the realization of peace through the peace process between the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP).

But considering the big picture, wherein community and sectoral leaders and media personalities that are perceived to be critical to the government are getting killed by terrorists with impunity in broad day light, this effort might result to… nothing.

Or maybe it will be used as another venue to tail the complainants and the NGO members that is maliciously tagged by the military as communist fronts.

We are hoping though that this skepticism should remain as skepticism. We will be very glad to be proven wrong. So many innocent lives and bright minds are being unreasonably wasted due to the military’s huge fear to the red specter.
